The United States – the most violent imperialist country in the world – is in crisis. The working class feels it in their day to day as they can’t afford basic costs of living. While the ruling class is split in how to carry forward their exploitation. When the current ruling class is confronted with a crisis, they will flip the “emergency switch” of fascism, abandoning the old way of ruling and resorting to open terrorist rule to maintain their power. 

With the election of Donald Trump, the switch had been fully flipped. Trump is on the rampage to wipe out his enemies and fulfill the vision of Project 2025 with the full backing of the Republican Party. He and his cronies plan to fully eliminate state checks and balances to pave the way for his absolute rule. 

Trump has an appointed “Border Czar”, Tom Homan, who has personally gone to Chicago to deliver his threatening ultimatum for the city. They have to hand over hundreds of undocumented migrants they have been protecting to start his mass deportations. NYC Mayor Adams has also been currying Trump’s favor to apply strict anti-migrant policies to the city that thrives on cultures from all around the world. Trump has given free reign to Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to dismantle parts of the federal government that protect workers and consumers rights by leading up a newly formed Department of Government Efficiency. 

The incoming cabinet picks are a who’s who of corrupt, right-wing, bigots and CEOs from major industries. These figures hail from some of the most backwards sectors of society, and they’re ready to set up anti-people and counter-revolutionary policies to hurt the most vulnerable and oppressed amongst us.  

However, for every act of repression there must be an act of resistance to meet it. ILPS has been fighting Trump since his first moment in office in 2016, and we’re ready to do it again. We can’t let this era wash over, it’s time to fight back! 

ILPS-US offered the People’s Platform as a road map to fight against Fascist Tyranny. For every glaring anti-people point that Trump will champion, we have a counterpoint on the People’s Platform that we can rally the people behind! The People’s Platform would bring us closer to a pro-people society. It addresses health and safety, housing and education, migration, civil and political rights, national liberation and people’s sovereignty, the economy, and environmental justice. These are points that can be formed into campaigns or areas to draw in the broadest range of people to build the anti-fascist united front - they are NOT demands we are making to Trump. 

In the last 8 years, we’ve mobilized thousands across the country to fight for justice, people’s rights, and the ability to struggle against imperialism. We’re on the front lines of the anti-imperialist fight, and together with our members and allies across the nation and world, we will ready the people to defeat Trump again.

Starting on January 20th, we’re going to meet him act for act, policy by policy. Rain or shine, we will ensure his presidency won’t go smoothly!
